Our
cheeses come from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, the
Channel Islands and from France, Italy, Switzerland, Scandinavia
and the Netherlands and other pastures. Where possible we
select farmhouse unpasteurised cheeses because we feel that
the true taste of cheese is better that way. We have divided
the cheeses by their country or origin and identified whether
the cheese is pasteurised(P) or unpasteurised (UN) and whether
from the milk of cow(C) sheep(S) or goat(G) and vegetarian(V).

The
prices given are all per 100g except where the cheese is whole
and this is indicated . For cut cheeses the minimum order is
200g as smaller amounts do not travel as well. When cut, prices
will be rounded down e.g 230g will be charged at 200g.
All you have to do to select your cheese is to choose the country
of origin by clicking on the appropriate flag and you will be
transported to the cheeses from that country. Choose the amount
or number required and just click on ADD to put it in your basket.
For
Christmas we recommend a whole baby stilton from Colston
bassett (2.5kg) £32.50 or stilton pots from Cropwell
Bishop 100g (5.95) 200g(8.95) and 350g(12.95). Or Vacherin Mont
d'or from Switzerland. This cheese comes in individual 500-750g
sizes in boxes and is a traditional winter cheese. The crust
is broken with a spoon and the contents spooned out it is really
delicious.
We
have all the ingredients for a cheese fondue and we even stock
packets of the cheeses mixed up ready to go with instructions
- one packet of cheese fondue feeds 3 (400g at £7.25 per packet).
Another
suggestion for a winter evening is a raclette party. Slices
of raclette cheese are grilled and then spooned over boiled
baby new potatoes. Pickled gherkins and onions and dried meats
are often used as an accompaniment.
For
summer picnics we recommend an Italian pecorino or a buffala
mozzarella. We even have a bufala mozzarella filled with cream
or truffle crea, (10 days to order)
